It remains unclear when Hunter x Hunter will return from its yet-longest hiatus. As fans continue to wait, publications recalled a few of the fans' "wild theories" about some of the series characters.

CBR stated that these speculations might be true, considering that the fans' explanations all make sense. Nevertheless, no one can still confirm the assertions as the course of the plot is yet to arrive.

Most of the theories revolve around the Dark Continent. The reason being is that the manga and the anime series have yet to explore the new world awaiting Gon and Killua.

Regardless, some fans believe that Nanika likely originated from the said continent. Apart from the scarcity of information about Nanika's backstory, the creature that coexists inside Alluka has extreme powers.

Some other fans, also, believe that Kurapika's Kurta Clan likely came from the Dark Continent, as well. The same publication said that this theory "attempts to track" the family back in the said location, considering the power that they all have.

This, reportedly, explains why the Phantom Troupe invaded and tried to kill every one from the clan. Unfortunately for them, Kurapika survived and took his revenge.

The speculation argued, however, that the Kurta Clan's arrival to the Dark Continent probably happened many generations ago. It would have likely taken place before the events that took place in the Hunter x Hunter manga and anime series.

There are, also, theories as to why officials founded The Hunter Association. As explained, licensed hunters are all tasked to explore the "most dangerous parts of the world."

While the history of the association itself remains a mystery, avid Hunter x Hunter fans believe that there are licensed hunters for the sole purpose of exploring and learning more about the Dark Continent.

If this theory happens to be true, then fans would most likely understand why Ging Freecs' has always been the way he is toward Gon. Fans, reportedly, asserted that this would have been a preparation for his son when the time comes that he explores the most dangerous place in the future.

Amid the waiting game as to what will happen next, fans received another unfortunate news earlier this month. What's On Netflix reported that Hunter x Hunter will depart the streaming giant in March.

The publication noted, though, that not all regions have confirmed the anime series' departure on the platform. But, Netflix US has already released a date, which is March 7, 2021, for the material's removal.
