It looks like Jeon Yeo Bin, the star of Vincenzo, has her next project in the pipeline as reports revealed she is in talks to star in the upcoming Netflix production of the series Glitch.
According to her agency J Wide-Company, Jeon has gotten the offer to play the lead female role in the sci-fi story. Glitch will follow a young woman, Hong Ji Hyo (Jeon), who is looking for her boyfriend after his unexpected disappearance. Her search will lead her to uncover the secrets of her boyfriend's family and she will also meet people who are alien believers.
Netflix announced Glitch, billed as a suspense-comedy, in December 2020. The streaming platform tapped Gin Han-sai as its head writer. Gin's last project with Netflix was the thriller Extracurricular.
Jeon's agency, however, did not say if the actress will be accepting the part but the Netflix project is indeed a big deal.
Meanwhile, Jeon's current series, Vincenzo, is still ongoing on tVN and Netflix. The show has had four episodes on air so far and it's been receiving positive reviews and increased viewership.
Korean drama fans love the chemistry between Jeon, as Hong Cha Young, and his co-star Song Joong Ki, as Vincenzo Cassano. The two play young, cunning lawyers who want to topple down a criminal syndicate.
Vincenzo centers on a South Korean who was adopted by an Italian family as a child. His adopted family turned out to be part of a mafia. But following a harrowing experience, Vincenzo had to return to his roots and build a new life, while establishing a career as a lawyer.
While Vincenzo has been her biggest project to date, Jeon was already on her way to becoming an award-winning big star. She received the Best New Actress award in the last Daejong Film Awards for the film, After My Death.
The actress has a degree in Broadcast Entertainment and finished college before she turned to acting. In an interview with Elle, Jeon admitted that she sometimes missed out on auditions because her focus was on graduating from school.
A late-bloomer in the entertainment industry, Jeon tried to face up to the challenge and stand out against other equally talented artists by taking many acting classes. The actress said that she had to discover and develop her artistic abilities so she could excel in all areas as an entertainer.
Vincenzo season 1 is currently streaming on Netflix with a new episode out every week until mid-year.
