An old video release that showed BTS member, Jimin, applying a lip balm, in between a dance performance, has resulted in a sales surge for the product.

According to reports, the lip balm Rohto Mentholatum Water Lip Tone Up CC SPF 20, which retailed for less than $6 and mainly sold at Naver store in South Korea, has been sold out at "every website" because of the BTS video.

The behind-the-scene clip was taken in 2020 when BTS was performing "Dynamite" for the MTV VMAs. AllKpop reported that fans immediately searched online when the brand name was revealed, causing an increase in sales.

It comes as the Korean Business Institute released its latest monthly brand reputation rankings for members of K-pop bands. Jimin was on the top of the list again, from the period of Feb. 20 to March 20, 2021, beating over 650 K-pop music artists.

Jimin has been holding the number one spot for brand ranking as far back as 27 months ago, sealing his reputation as South Korea's Brand King. This latest data showed that he had a positive score of 83.24 percent and an index score of 6,488,864.

Brand rankings are measured based on media coverage, consumer participation and community interaction. It gauges the social media popularity of K-pop idols like BTS and Jimin. The latest data might have likely pushed Jimin's individual net worth even higher than $20 million.

A week ago, Jimin also managed to sell out a Louis Vuitton crewneck top and pendant necklace on the high-end brand's South Korean website. Apparently, fans saw him wearing the products in a video teaser of the upcoming show You Quiz on the Block, which will air on March 24 on tvN.

Apart from his success as a brand influencer, Jimin has massively earned from the success of BTS with its chart-topping songs and trending videos. The Bangtan Boys also have several TV shows to their name that have earned substantial viewership.

Jimin has also enjoyed solo success as a singer. His individual record "Filter," which is still part of BTS' Map Of The Soul: 7 album has received more than a hundred million streams on the Melon platform in South Korea.

"Filter" is the lone solo song from an Asian boyband to earn such a feat. On March 16, the song became one of the longest-running records to stay on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales for a full year. The music has a Latin vibe to it and highlights Jimin's melodic and angelic voice.
