Honda has offered the very first look at its all-new 2022 Honda Civic sedan. The automotive manufacturer published photos of the new car.

The next Honda Civic's overall design doesn't stray far from the look of the prototype that was showcased at the end of last year. The 11th generation sedan retained the same silhouette and general design of the prototype.

Honda also confirmed it will be releasing different variants of the all-new Civic - including a hatchback version, an Si version and a Type-R. The company said the four-door touring model will be the first available by the third or fourth quarter of this year. The model will be produced at the company's manufacturing facility in Canada.

The 2022 Civic retains most of the front fascia including its futuristic headlights and angles. The side profile of the vehicle looks very similar to the sedan's bigger brother - the Honda Accord.

Honda said the "bones" of the new Civic are similar to the outgoing model. However, the new version has significant improvements in its torsional rigidity and overall handling.

The 2022 Civic is expected to have the same engine options. The base engine is a two-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated motor mated to a CVT capable of generating up to 158 horsepower and 138 foot-pounds of torque.

A four-cylinder turbocharged engine will also be available for the four-door touring version, with a maximum power of 180 horses and 177 foot-pounds of torque.

The Si and Type-R will have much more powerful four-cylinder engines. The Si is expected to come with a 205 horsepower engine, while the Type-R will come with a 306 horsepower engine. Both models are expected to be available by the summer of 2022 or 2023.

Honda has yet to reveal any details about the car's cabin and driving technologies. However, fans expect the cabin to retain its clean and modern look just like its predecessor.
