Meghan Markle has dispelled rumors that she will not attend the King's coronation due to a letter she reportedly sent addressing concerns about unconscious bias within the royal family. The Duchess of Sussex dismissed the claims, which were published in the Daily Telegraph over the weekend.

The newspaper cited a source who suggested that Meghan's dissatisfaction with the response she received to her letter is the reason behind her decision not to attend the coronation on May 6. However, a spokesperson for the Duchess firmly denied this, stating, "The Duchess of Sussex is going about her life in the present, not thinking about correspondence from two years ago related to conversations from four years ago. Any suggestion otherwise is false and frankly ridiculous."

According to the Daily Telegraph, Meghan's letter was a response to one from Charles, in which he expressed his sadness over the family rift. The correspondence reportedly clarified the identity of the senior royal who made a comment about Archie's skin color, with both Meghan and Charles acknowledging that the remark was not intended maliciously.

In a previous interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan shared that multiple conversations within the royal family centered on her son's appearance. She recounted discussions about Archie not receiving a royal title or security protection, as well as concerns over "how dark his skin might be when he's born." The Duchess did not directly confirm Winfrey's interpretation that the royal family was worried about Archie being "too brown," but did admit that the situation was difficult to comprehend.

The interview led to widespread allegations of racism within the royal family, prompting Prince William to address the question, "Are you a racist family?" The Queen also issued a rare statement, noting that "recollections may vary."

Since the interview, Prince Harry has maintained that the couple did not accuse members of the royal family of racism. Speculation has continued regarding Meghan's choice not to attend the coronation with her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Coincidentally, May 6 is also Prince Archie's fourth birthday.

While Prince Harry is expected to attend his father's ceremony, reports suggest he will return to his California home to be with Archie immediately after the service.
