Security agencies in the United States have determined that the individual responsible for the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump is a young man named Thomas Matthew Crooks, who is 20 years old.

Thomas Matthew Crooks has been recognized by the Federal Bureau of Investigation as the "subject involved" in the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, according to a statement released by the agency.

Crooks was reportedly positioned on the roof of a manufacturing plant, which is located more than 130 yards distant from the stage at the Butler Farm Show grounds, The New York Post reported.

It was snipers from the Secret Service who took his life. Later thereafter, an AR-style weapon was found and recovered. Forty miles to the south of the location where the Butler rally took place is the community of Bethel Park.

Records pertaining to Crooks's voter status in the state indicate that he was a registered Republican. It was claimed by the Intercept that the shooter made a single donation of fifteen dollars to the leftist political action committee ActBlue on January 20, 2021, which was also the day that Biden was inaugurated as president.

The donation was made by Crooks, who was 17 years old at the time. According to the documents, he became a member of the Republican Party and registered to vote when he became 18 years old in September of that same year.

It is not apparent why Crooks decided to fire the leading candidate for the Republican presidential nomination. Crooks was referred to as the "subject involved" in the attack on Trump by the FBI.

"At this time, we are not prepared to identify who the shooter is. We are close to that identification. As soon as we are 100 per cent confident who that individual is, we will share it with the press,” FBI Special Agent Kevin Rojek said at a press briefing.

In addition, the official from the FBI stated that they do not yet have a clear understanding of the reason behind the attempt at assassination, which has resulted in the death of one individual and the severe injury of two others.

"We do not currently have an identified motive, although our investigators are working tirelessly to attempt to identify what that motive was," Kevin furthered.

In the investigation of the attempted assassination, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is the primary federal law enforcement agency.

An "active crime scene" has been described as continuing to exist at the campaign venue located in Butler. "We are working closely with other federal agencies, our state partners and our local police partners as well,” the FBI indicated.

The Commissioner of the Pennsylvania State Police, Colonel Chris Paris, stated to the media that the state police are collaborating closely with the Federal Bureau of inquiry in this inquiry. "We are prepared to support this investigation in any way, shape or form. And we stand ready to participate in a full, fair, competent and thorough investigation," Chris said.

The FBI has also requested any information that the general public may have regarding the shooting. "We need the public's help, anyone who was on scene, who saw anything... please report that to the FBI," Special Agent Rojek stated.

Alarm bells have been ringing across the nation's security establishment as a result of the murder attempt on Donald Trump, who is the most formidable opponent of Republican Vice President Joe Biden in the upcoming election in the United States.

During the rally that Butler was holding yesterday, multiple bullets were fired that were aimed at the former President. It was reported by Trump that one of the bullets had penetrated the top portion of his right ear. The incident resulted in the death of one individual and the extremely serious injury of two others. Visuals showed members of the Secret Service bringing the former President to safety following the shooting, with blood smears visible on his face.

Joe Biden, the current President of the United States, has issued a vehement condemnation of the incident and has also communicated with his most bitter adversary following the shooting.

"There's no place in America for this kind of violence. It's sick. It's sick. It's one of the reasons why we have to unite this country... We cannot be like this, we cannot condone this. The idea that there's political violence, or violence in America like this, is just unheard of. It's just not appropriate. Everybody, everybody must condemn it. Everybody," the POTUS said.

The “rhetoric from the Left” is what, according to Steve Gill, a former advisor to both the Clinton and Bush administrations, is responsible for the attempted assassination of Donald Trump. “If Trump hadn't tilted his head the moment the shot was fired, he would likely be dead,” he told GB News in an interview.

GB News presenter Mark White also commented on Donald being shot in broad daylight in what is being described as an assassination attempt. "He's incredibly lucky, there's no doubt about that," he said.
