Kylie Jenner has faced criticism for her frequent use of a private jet.
The 27-year-old mother of two has taken eight flights on her jet since the start of the month, coinciding with the onset of wildfires in Los Angeles.
The backlash intensified after she posted a message on Instagram about disaster relief efforts, just hours after her private jet completed its eleventh flight of the year.
In 2025, despite growing public pressure for celebrities like her sister Kim Kardashian to reduce their emissions, Kylie has not made any changes to minimize her carbon footprint.
According to Mirror, her $72 million Bombardier Global 7500 has already completed 11 trips this year, including three on January 16 alone.
The Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies Calculator estimates that her flights have released 162 tons of carbon dioxide, equivalent to the annual energy consumption of 33 families.
Notably, four of her flights lasted less than an hour, with one trip lasting just 15 minutes, releasing one ton of carbon dioxide and consuming 120 gallons of jet fuel.
Since the wildfires began on January 7, Kylie has taken her private jet on eight occasions.
On January 9, one of her shortest trips occurred, lasting about 15 minutes between Camarillo, California, and Los Angeles.
Just three days later, she took a 36-minute flight to Palm Springs, which resulted in the emission of an additional three tons of carbon dioxide.
Later that day, Kylie flew to London to support her boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet, at the premiere of his Bob Dylan biopic, "A Complete Unknown". Ironically, Chalamet chose a more environmentally friendly mode of transportation, riding a Lime bike to the event.
Afterward, the couple flew to Paris, a journey that lasted 47 minutes and released 4 tons of CO2, consuming 361 gallons of jet fuel. The flight cost $2,000, six times more than a premier Eurostar ticket for the same route, which takes less than three hours.
After her cross-Atlantic journey, Kylie's jet flew three more times in one day, beginning in Fargo, North Dakota, with stops in Rifle, Colorado, and concluding in Teterboro, New Jersey.
Meanwhile, Kylie Cosmetics announced on Instagram that it would donate "skincare, body, hair, and makeup products" to fire victims in Altadena.
In her post, Kylie expressed her sorrow, writing, "We are truly heartbroken to see the devastation caused by the fires in Los Angeles," and added, "Watching so many people forced to evacuate and hearing the stories of those who have lost everything is deeply saddening and difficult to comprehend."
Despite the heartfelt message, fans were quick to call out what they saw as hypocrisy.
One fan criticized the luxury of boarding a private jet to Paris, which contributes to the environmental factors exacerbating wildfires in Los Angeles, while offering lotion to middle-class fire victims, calling it "hypocritical." They urged Kylie to be more responsible with her influence, per Express US.
Another user referred to Kylie as "insanely tone deaf" in response to her post.
While a Reddit user accused her actions of being "performative," saying, "Kylie sharing donation links is performative. She's been using her jet for days while the fires are still happening. Worms for brains."
