As Wendy Williams continues to fight for her freedom from the legal guardianship she was under, a source stated that she severed her contact with Linda Redlisky, the attorney who had been assigned by the court, on Wednesday, January 29.
The ailing former talk show presenter reportedly demanded that Redlisky submit court filings asking for a trial to determine whether or not she truly requires the guardianship. This information was obtained from several sources. Williams, on the other hand, was upset with the fact that this probe had not yet been finished.
According to OK! Magazine, Williams has stated that her life has been "ridiculous" while she has been under guardianship, and she has asserted that she is not mentally handicapped. This comes after Williams made her allegation.
"I've been with this guardian person for three years. For three years of my life," she said in a recent interview. "I can't go out. All I can do is look at the window."
She stated that the "guardian mess" left her feeling isolated, as if she were not free, and that she felt dominated in every part of her life.
"I'm not in a good position. My life is screwed up," she continued. "You know, this guardian mess is - please, look, I am isolated. I feel like I'm in prison. I feel like, you know, they're trying to control me and everything that I do."
In addition to this, she claimed that she had been the subject of "emotional abuse."
Williams expressed concern during her appearance on the podcast "The Breakfast Club" that she might not even be able to pay her elderly father a visit on his birthday. Williams's father is a senior citizen. During the conversation, Williams expressed her concern about this matter, as reported in an MSN story.
She said how exhausted she was by the notion of not being able to visit her father on his birthday, especially considering that he was 94 years old, and the uncertainty of whether or not she would even be authorized to fly to Miami in order to wish him a happy birthday. This has impacted her emotional well-being.
After then, she continued by saying that she had the feeling that she was being kept captive by someone, and she was uncertain as to whether or not that person would allow her to escape.
