The Xiaomi Pocophone F1 is a much-talked-about device anticipated to be coming out soon. One of the intriguing features it could potentially have is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, making it the fifth handset after the Mi 8, Mi 8 Explorer Edition, Mi Mix 2S and Black Shark.
However, it will be the first device to come with a powerful processor in the Pocophone line. As of this writing, there is no official launch date announced although some leaks may have raised the chances of seeing the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 come out this month.
A listing for the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 was spotted at a Belarusian online store with most of the features and specs revealed. This includes a 6.18-inch full HD+ display with 18.7:9 aspect ratio. The listing also affirms the use of a touted Snapdragon 845 SoC which will be backed by 6 GB of RAM.
According to NDTV, the device will be available in two storage variants (64 GB and 128 GB), expandable through microSD. The phone is dual-SIM ready and carries the usual connectivity options (4G, WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB Type-C). Tasked to provide necessary power is a 4,000 mAh battery that comes with support for Quick Charge 3.0. With regards to biometric security, the device will come with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
The Xiaomi Pocophone F1 will also come with a rear dual-camera setup (12 MP + 5 MP sensors) with f/1.75 aperture and LED flash. It also boasts of a 20 MP front-facing camera with Super Pixel technology and Face Unlock, more than enough to appease folks who love to take high-resolution selfies or make video calls.
According to Gizmo China, the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 will be priced for about $498 for the 6 GB and 64 GB ROM model. The larger internal storage variant will cost around $533.
Looming as one of the cheapest Snapdragon 845-powered devices in the market, the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 could give the OnePlus 6 some competition. The device has already passed through AnTuTu benchmarking and returned an impressive 285 K result, GSM Arena said.
Though Xiaomi flagships have not accurately performed well out of China, the Pocophone F1 may carry the necessary specs to alleviate all that. It has passed through the different tests and garnered impressive results. An actual release date has yet to be announced although most of the revelations point to an imminent launch happening this month. Aside from China, the latest flagship from Xiaomi hopes to make its mark in the European and Indian markets.
