The Nokia 5.1 Plus is one of the highly awaited devices in the market today, a global version of the Nokia X5. The device was recently spotted at a Bluetooth Certification portal, the same device expected to be part of Google’s Android One programme.

The listing for the Nokia 5.1 Plus was spotted by NokiaPowerUser who spotted five new models (TA-1108, TA-1105, TA-1120, TA-1112, and TA-1102) which could be their official model numbers for the different markets. The TA-1105 has been certified and is assigned to Malaysia. All the models have received Bluetooth 4.2 certification, a budget-friendly device expected to hit the global market soon.

With no official launch date given, most are left with the impression that the Nokia 5.1 Plus could potentially launch alongside the Nokia 6.1 Plus. For those who may have missed it, HMD Global put to rest rumors when the Nokia 6.1 Plus Android One was launched in Hong Kong, carrying practically similar specs as the Nokia X6, NDTV said.

With the Nokia 6.1 sporting similar specs as the Nokia X6, the Nokia 5.1 Plus is expected to likely come out with the same features as the Nokia X5. This includes feature like a 5.86-inch HD+ (720x1520 pixels) panel protected by 2.5D curved glass, powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 chipset with 3 GB and 4 GB RAM options. Potential buyers can also choose between a 32 GB or 64 GB of storage, Gizmo China said.

Other specs for the Nokia 5.1 Plus include a dual rear camera (13 MP + 5MP), a front-facing 8 MP selfie-shooter, and power supplied by a 3,060 mAh battery. For connectivity, the device will have a USB Type-C connector while the 3.5 mm jack will still be in use. The device will run on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

The Nokia 5.1 Plus is the latest installment from previous models that include the Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 5.1. Being a mid-range device, the specs should be sufficient for people who are looking for a reasonably priced device in the market.

With most anticipating a Nokia 5.1 Plus launching alongside the Nokia 6.1 Plus, such may happen at an upcoming event to be held in India. According to BGR, both devices may be launched at the same time with social media backing already building up, including a contest where lucky winners would be invited to attend the launch event. Additional details and specs for the Nokia 5.1 Plus should come out soon with most eagerly awaiting the global launch of the budget-friendly device.
