There is still no official word on when the Smartisan Nut Pro 2S will come out. However, leaks have started to come out online, spilling some of the potential specs that the upcoming device will have to offer.

While the images making its rounds are not actual shots of the device, it does hint at the potential features the Smartisan Nut Pro 2’s successor. Thanks to a photo of the box of the device, the most notable spec is the chipset it would come with.

Expected to be another mid-range handset to invade the market, IThome reveals that the Smartisan Nut Pro 2S will come powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC. This is the same chipset used on the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE and the Vivo Nex A.

Aside from that, the device will also feature a 12 MP + 5 MP dual rear cameras and a front-facing 16 MP selfie shooter. Other than that, further information on the device remains scarce. The device has already received 3C certification and will have support for 18W fast charging, Gizmo China pointed out.

With regards to other potential features, most remain unconfirmed. The word out is that the device is expected to come with Android 8.1 Oreo (at the least) and have at least 6 GB of RAM. Internal storage is likely to be offered in various variants similar to the Smartisan Nut Pro 2 which will likely provide a maximum of 256 GB of ROM.

It is also expected to offer an 18:9 display, possibly with a notch similar to the Smartisan R1. With regards to the other specs, most are expected to improve on what the Smartisan Nut Pro 2 had to offer.

Launched last year, the Nut Pro 2 drew raves and was branded as one of the premium mid-range phones one could get in the market. It carried a suggested retail price of $270.

The device sported a 5.99-inch display (2160 x 1080 pixel resolution, 18:9 aspect ratio) and did not have a front home button. It ran on a 3,500 mAh battery and was dual-SIM ready. It also featured USB Type-C connectivity, and a noticeable iteration was the removal of the 3.5 mm audio jack. Instead, owners got a 3.5 mm to USB-C adapter for their audio needs. It also used the traditional fingerprint sensor for biometric security, as detailed on Droid Chart.

The Smartisan Nut Pro 2S is expected to improve on its predecessor’s features and specifications aside from the ones already revealed earlier. More details such as pricing and the official release date should be known soon.
