The Asus Zenfone 5Z is now officially available in the United States although in limited quantities. After its debut at the Mobile World Congress earlier this year, the touted device is available for purchase from Amazon and B&H Photo.

While this should be an exciting smartphone to check out, consumers who intend to get one may have to decide fast. According to Gizmo China, the Asus Zenfone 5Z is already out of stock at B&H photo while Amazon only has limited quantities left on stock.

Its availability in the US follows its previous release in Europe and India. Priced lower than the Xiaomi Mi 6, Asus hopes to grab a share of the market by offering a lower starting price pegged at $499.

The Asus Zenfone 5Z stands as an interesting device to consider. It sports a 6.2-inch full HD+ display screen (2240 x 1080 pixels, 19:9 aspect ratio) with 550 nits of brightness protected by Gorilla Glass. The device comes powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset paired with an Adreno 630 graphics processor, Gizmo China said.

Buyers can opt to get the 4 GB, 6 GB and 8 GB RAM variant. The 6 GB model, already available in the US, comes with 64 GB of internal storage while the 8 GB version comes with 128 GB of ROM. The Asus Zenfone 5Z will provide support for expandable storage via microSD to ensure that folks don’t have to worry about storage space.

Other features of the Asus Zenfone 5Z include a 12 MP + 8 MP dual camera and a front-facing 8 MP camera that comes with support for Face Unlock technology. For biometric security, the device comes with a fingerprint scanner located at the rear of the handset.

The device will rely on a 3,300 mAh battery (with support Asus BoostMaster fast charging), dual speakers with five magnets and NXP Smart amplifier USB Type-C connectivity and the traditional 3.5 mm audio jack. The phone will come with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box together with a custom ZenUI interface.

Aside from the Asus Zenfone 5, another budget-friendly device making its way to US waters is the ZenFone Live. This will be Asus’ first Android Go phone priced for just $109.99.

For that amount, folks get a device sporting a 5.5-inch 720p HD display screen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC. It will also have 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of expandable storage, an 8 MP primary camera and a 5 MP front-facing selfie shooter. It will bank on a 3,000 mAh battery and enshrined in a plastic shell according to Android Central.
