The Xiaomi Poco F1 is one of the most anticipated new handsets from the Chinese smartphone company and the device was recently shown off by company spokesperson Donovan Sung. One of the much-awaited features for the phone is the built-in camera, the quality of which remains unknown for now.

It turns out that while Sung brought the Xiaomi Poco F1 out in the open, the quality of photos the device could take was kept under wraps. Folks over at social media lashed out at the fake camera samples – shots that were actually the same ones used on another variant – the Xiaomi Mi 2S, Notebookcheck.net said.

This was the same photo used to promote the Xiaomi Mi 2S earlier this year. Also, the sample shots also carried a watermark that was poorly erased or edited out. Could the company be hiding something tied up to the camera? Or is the built-in camera still in the process of improvement?

These are the things going on in the minds of most, particularly folks who are considering the Xiaomi Poco F1. However, such has created a backlash on social media, something that could possibly hurt the device’s credibility.

Compounding everything was the fact that Xiaomi even tried to compare it with Huawei who failed to hit it well recently. This ploy has unfortunately backfired with most now concerned on the sincerity of the company. That is unless they come up with an acceptable explanation on why Sung had used shots from a different phone and then taking a swipe at their rival brand.

As mentioned in a previous post, the Xiaomi Poco F1 is speculated to come with a dual rear camera (12 MP + 5 MP) as well as a 20 MP front-facing shooter. The specs are similar to the ones most phones are coming out with today and should be enough to produce decent and quality shots.

The Xiaomi Poco F1 fairly resembles the Xiaomi Mi 8, sporting a 6.18-inch IPS LCD display. Under the hood, the device will reportedly be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, a 4,000 mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0 and come with MIUI 10 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

The Poco F1 will be available in different RAM and ROM configurations, (GB RAM + 64 GB ROM, 6GB RAM + 128 GB ROM, and 8 GB RAM + 256 GB ROM). The official retail price for the said device remains unknown although there are rumors claiming that prices may start at $313.
