The Xiaomi Pocophone F1 is anticipated to be one of the curious devices from the Chinese company, something that will offer good specs at a fairly reasonable price. As in previous reports, the device has already rendered impressive benchmarking results even if it comes armed only with 6 GB of RAM.

Most have wondered the secret behind the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 and how it could perform above expectations. Some suggested errors on the declared 6 GB RAM part, believing that the device was armed with 8 GB RAM instead. Thanks to Gizmo China, it seems like the upcoming handset does come armed with an 8 GB RAM support only that this will be entirely separate.

The Xiaomi Pocophone F1 was spotted at GeekBench for the second time. This time, the device being tested sported 8 GB of RAM. As expected, this version fared, scoring 2451 points on single-threaded tests and 8998 points on the multi-core tests. To elaborate, these tests are made on similar models running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoCs. The list includes models such as the OnePlus 6 and the Xiaomi Mi 8.

For comparison purposes, the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 6 GB version returned scores of 2467 on single-core tests and 9081 on multi-core. Only the Samsung Galaxy S9+ bested these scores.

Regardless, these also indicate that the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 will likely be available in two variants – a 6 GB RAM and 8 GB RAM model. The options could be broadened further since the device will also be available in 64 GB and 128 GB ROM as pointed out in a previous post. Take note that the dual-SIM ready smartphone comes with provisions for expandable storage via microSD.

Aside from the ROM and RAM variant options, all features of the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 are expected to be the same. This includes seeing a device sporting a 5.99-inch IPS LCD notched display that supports Xiaomi’s face scanning technology.

The Xiaomi Pocophone F1 will also come armed with a dual rear camera (12 MP + 5 MP), a front-facing 20 MP selfie-shooter and a 4,000 mAh battery that comes with support for Quick Charge 3.0.

As far as pricing, the initial belief is that the base model (6 GB, 64 GB) variant of the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 would retail for about $498. The 6 GB RAM with 128 GB ROM model will cost a bit more at $533. With the 8 GB tests coming out, it remains to be seen if the RAM compliment would be increased or possibly seeing at least one more variant in the mix.
