The Oppo R17 will soon see its elder brother following the company’s reveal of an official teaser video of the Oppo R17 Pro. One of the highly anticipated features is the triple camera setup of the handset, something that has been making its rounds in the rumor mill.

The video that was put up on Weibo clearly shows what to expect apart from the gradient hue that the Oppo R17 Pro model will be sporting. With nothing concrete to show, most have used the Huawei P20 Pro as a basis to figure out how the triple camera of Pro model will look like. But the differences have been clearly detailed based on the video.

As Gizmo China points out, the Oppo R17 Pro will have a Time of Flight (ToF) tridimensional camera that will be used for AR – something similar to the Asus Zenfone Ares. This clears the air on speculations of a seeing a device sporting telephoto lens or a B/W monochromatic sensors. Also, the triple camera setup will also feature an aperture similar to the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus and Note 9 that will allow it to adapt to varying lighting conditions.

The video reveal of the official triple camera setup of the Oppo R17 Pro appends the other anticipated features the device will have to offer. As mentioned in a previous post, other likely specs include an in-display fingerprint sensor which was shown by YouTube user Myke Atty. The integration of this latest biometric security feature hardly comes as a surprise considering most new phones being released in the market are adapting to the new technology.

Aside from these two, other features of the Oppo R17 Pro include seeing a 6.4-inch OLED panel (2220x1080 pixel) shelled in an aluminum frame. It will run on an overclocked octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC backed by 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Power will be supplied by a 3,500 mAh battery for the dual-SIM ready handset.

The Oppo R17 Pro already made its rounds when it was teased at a media event backed by the company. While the gradient hue has captivated most, a previous post stated how more color schemes are expected to be available. With other important specs still under wraps, the Oppo R15 is the best baseline unit to look at for folks who want to have an idea of what is to come.

The Oppo R17 Pro is reportedly set to be introduced on Aug. 23, a day that should finally confirm the official specs of the highly-anticipated device.
