“Pokemon Go” players are looking forward to another productive month this September with new batch Field Research tasks up ahead. There is also a new Breakthrough Reward to look forward to, meaning there are plenty of goodies and new pocket monsters likely to crop up.

With most “Pokemon Go” players likely to be still busy pinning down the shiny Wingull, reports are coming in that a shiny Growlithe is also slowly cropping up, Game Rant said. Several screenshots came out in the open showing the critter, making it another worthy addition to one’s Pokedex.

Compared to other “Pokemon Go” characters, Growlithe seems more like an added variant that hardly comes with something special. This means that it is unlikely to have added powers and abilities upon capture, merely another pawn for folks who love to collect special Pokemon.

Though Niantic game developers have tweaked spawn rates at certain times for these special Pokemon, it seems that Growlithe will not be getting a boost in terms of spawns. This should add a bit of challenge to gamers who come across rare pocket monsters that are normally offered for a limited time.

For those who may not be aware, this shiny variant of Growlithe on “Pokemon Go” is expected to have a different color variation, Comicbook.com said. It is expected to have a lighter shade of orange and can be identified by its sparkle animation that appears around its body once stumbled upon.

The shiny Growlithe becomes the second critter to look forward to in recent days on “Pokemon Go” following the shiny Wingull. The latter was added during the Global Challenge and live event in Yokosuka, Japan.

Augmented reality players up to the challenge will have better change capturing the shiny variant of Growlithe at the “Use 10 Berries to Catch Pokemon” task. According to Comicbook.com, this holds better odds in getting the pocket monster as a reward.

There are more critters “Pokemon Go” can look forward to. Aside from the shiny versions of Wingull and Growlithe, there is also the Legendary Pokemon Entei which can be captured by completing the Field Research tasks on seven different days. Gamers have until the end of the month to snag this Legendary Pokemon.

These and more surprises are expected on “Pokemon Go” this month, as most are on course to complete the Global Challenge and unlock a special Moltres Day mini-event. There is also that mysterious Ultra Bonus set to be announced later this month – meaning it will be a busy September for avid “Pokemon Go” players.
