October is a big month of 'Pokemon Go' players with plenty of pocket monsters and goodies expected. While most are anticipating a whole new breed of Pokemon to add to their collection, also coming is a new clan of shiny type pocket monsters for this month's Community Day.

Players will get the chance to add shiny variants of Pokemon such as Beldum, Metang, and Metagross on Community Day although they will need to act fast. The special event will last only three hours, meaning 'Pokemon Go' players need to make sure they are well calibrated and prepared, Game Rant said.

While these shiny Pokemon are more on add-ons for players who want to capture rare pocket monsters, there is more to look forward to. Among the pocket monsters, evolving Metagross may prove rewarding as successful individuals get the chance to arm it with an exclusive and powerful move called the Meteor Mash.

Hence, it would be best to figure out the optimal way to capture Metagross and then evolving it. According to Forbes, it may all boil down to the spawn rates. If the spawn frequency remains the same, this means that there is about a 3 to 5 percent chance of capturing the special shiny variant. If not, patience may be needed. A player may try as much as 50 to 100 times without one, a challenge that Pokemon Go players are pretty much aware of when rare types like these are offered.

Other than that, participating players can also expect three hours of lures and incubators that can hatch eggs four times faster. Also, special events such as this would be nothing without the action - raids. Worth looking forward at the raids are new critters such as MewTwo. Do take note the Pokemon will only be available until Oct. 23 where Giratina will reportedly be taking its place.

Players do have the necessary add-ons to help out. That includes using incense and lures for the three-hour window, raising the chances of snagging those shiny type critters. For those who have these items on stock, this is one of the rare times where they should be of good use.

The October Community Day on Pokemon Go should be an added attraction for gamers looking to make the most out of Niantic's plans this month. It also serves as a neat sidelight with most eager to get their hands on the Gen 4 Pokemon which have reportedly started spawning. Some are region specific meaning that while there are over 100 of them available, all one can do is capture the ones that pop up along the way.
