Niantic is slowly revealing its plans this Halloween with more events and critters for 'Pokemon Go' gamers. Come Community Day on Nov. 3, there will also be the ghost-type Gengar appearing at Raid Battles.
As mentioned in a previous post, the big news is that Niantic will be releasing about 107 new critters when the Gen 4 update rolls out. Aside from that, there are also the shiny type critters expected to be unleashed. Among the shiny Pokemon variants that many are expecting are Beldum, Metang an Metagross. Now, another one has been added in Gengar.
According to Pokemon Go Hub, trainers will be given five Raid passes that will allow them to find and (hopefully) catch the shiny form of Gengar. The passes can be procured by simply spinning the photo discs at the gyms. Gengar will take over and be the Raid Battle boss at gyms, fairly similar to how the legendary birds did it during the Special Summer Raid Challenge last summer. Take note that players can only get one free raid pass at a time.
It remains to be seen as to what tier Gengar will have. Also, there is the shiny version that remains a mystery for now. Seeing how this will be another rare Pokemon that one can add to his/her Pokedex, expect trainers to participate and go all out to snag one.
With Gengar the latest Pokemon expected to come out, some are now trying to figure out what other critters to expect. Two other Ghost-types in Gastly and Haunters could also be added to the game once the Special Raid Challenge is complete, meaning it will be a busy Halloween for many augmented reality players still on "Pokemon Go," Comicbook.com said.
Other than Gengar, there are also other things to look forward to on Pokemon Go. Up ahead is Adventure Sync, a feature that will now help folks track walking distance. It will keep track of a player's step count in the background - regardless if the device is left idle on one's pocket or if they are doing something else, Tech Radar said.
This should be a welcome development, particularly for folks who want to hatch the kilometer eggs where they can get new pocket monsters as well. This means that Pokemon Go players can now gain distance for their eggs and buddy while they are strolling along. There is even a weekly summary breaks down the incubator and candy progress as well as push notifications to alert folks when a buddy receives candy or when an egg is hatched.
With new critters and features, Niantic will be keeping most busy and hooked, making this year's Halloween something to look forward to.
