Pokemon Go was launched in 2016. Two years later, this augmented reality mobile game developed by Niantic is still popular and the community continues to grow.
Speaking of community, Pokemon Go January 2019 Community Day is set for Saturday, Jan. 12. Expect that you have a chance to capture rare Pokemon and earn tons of bonuses and treats.
Aside from virtual treats, Pokemon Go players are going to enjoy the real sweet treats in reality during Pokémon Go Community Day. A Reddit user aryamao posted some of his/her homemade pokemon sweets that she/he wants to share at Pokemon Go Community. The homemade sweets look like Pokémons. These are not just pretty, but they look delicious as well.
aryamao also bakes other creative geeky dishes including, an Eevee-themed pumpkin pie, along with homemade Bulbasaur and Charmander truffles. The Pokemon Go player also made a geeky sweet concoction that pays tribute to Spider-Man. It seems the Pokemon Go Community Day seems very special to armayao as she/he shows his/her dedication.
What to expect this January?
Niantic continues to improve the game. Recently, the developer added a PvP feature that allows trainers to go into battle with each other, ScreenRant reported.
Community Day is not the only event this month. Just recently, Niantic announced it is also hosting a new type of Limited Research event next weekend. In this event, users have a chance to encounter a new Shiny Pokemon. The event called The Limited Research is scheduled for Saturday, January 19. Just like Community Day, the event will only run for three hours.
During this event, players may receive special Limited Research tasks by spinning the Photo Disc at PokeStops. For every Limited Research task you complete, you will be rewarded with an encounter with a Feebas, the base form of the majestic Water-type Pokemon Milotic.
Niantic also announced that Pokemon Go players will have their first chance to encounter a Shiny Feebas as part of the event. Although the Limited Research tasks will only be available during the three-hour window, Pokemon Go players can complete them at any time once they've been received.
In America and Greenland, the event starts at 11 AM - 2 PM PT & 2 PM - 5 PM ET; In Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, the event starts on 10 AM - 1 PM UTC; and in Asia-Pacific, the event is set for January 20, at 12 PM - 3 PM JST.
Currently, players can take advantage the Adventure Sync Hatchathon event, in which will end on January 15-the same day that Heatran leaves Raid Battles. During this event, the usual amount of Stardust and Candy for hatching Pokemon Eggs will be double.
