Xiaomi introduces the first ever double folding smartphone set to rock the mobile world.

Xiaomi released a teaser that could probably make a buzz; the first double folding phone ever seen in social media and the real world and what The Verge describes as the best seen so far.

Bin Lin, Xiaomi's president, and co-founder today released a video through his Weibo account. In the video, Bin is seen watching a video playing on what seemed like a tablet. He then quickly turned it into a landscape orientation and showed what the device has in store.

He folded each panel of the screen towards the back of the tablet. The tablet then turned into what seemed like the size of a phablet. The video noticeably continued playing throughout the tablet trick and was then fit exactly at the size of the phablet.

Unlike Samsung's thunder, Xiaomi's double folding smartphone does not have a single parting at the center. Instead, it divides the landscaped orientation screen into three equal panels through its two folds.

The video that runs at less than a minute long was edited that is why the smaller details on the actual folding action were not completely seen. However, the folded wings clearly showed up to turn dark leaving the central panel in front to continue playing the video now adjusted smaller to fit its size.

Bin later asked the Xiaomi followers to give their feedback on the double folding smartphone prototype considering the demand before thinking of producing the actual Xiaomi folding smartphone in the market. He assured the followers that if they liked the prototype then Xiaomi will be making a mass production machine in the future.

In a statement translated via Google Translate, Xiaomi president said that the symmetrical double-folded form perfectly combines the experience of the tablet and mobile phone which he defines as both practical and beautiful. He further added that they had to go through a conquering a series of technical problems such as flexible folding screen technology, four-wheel drive folding shaft technology, flexible cover technology, and MIUI adaptation in building the prototype.

There are still no words if the Xiaomi double folding smartphone prototype will have a real counterpart. If so, the question about its date of release then comes in line.

Speculations are also surfacing that the Xiaomi double folding smartphone may be introduced this February in the upcoming Mobile World Congress to be held in Barcelona, according to Tech Crunch.
