"The Last Of Us 2" remains one of the most anticipated games for the PlayStation 4, and it's not hard to see that: with its predecessor gaining wide success and popularity on the PlayStation 3, fans are waiting for the sequel to be released.
While the game hasn't been released yet, certain details about it have popped up online, generating buzz among players. One of the details that cause some commotion is the list of characters that are either confirmed to appear in game or not.
Here's a list of characters that are going to make an appearance in game, courtesy of Screen Rant.
Joel
Joel was the first protagonist in the series, and the only playable character in the first installment. Players will remember playing as Joel while he took care of Ellie, a girl believed to hold the key for a cure to the Cordyceps Brain Infection affecting everyone in the game's world.
Ellie
Once the young girl Joel looked after, Ellie has now grown up and has become the second installment's main protagonist and only playable character. Using the skills she learned from Joel, Ellie must survive all challenges posed by all enemies and threats in the game's post apocalyptic world.
Not much is known about the sequel's story, but what is known is that Ellie is driven by her anger towards a certain "them." This is confirmed by the game's official synopsis (via ComicBook) that says she is out to "bring those that have wronged her to justice." Whatever that means, it sure will be very violent.
Dina
Dina, Ellie's love interest as revealed in the E3 trailer, is a member of the Firefly camp led by Joel's brother, Tommy.
According to recently revealed concept art, their relationship began well before the trailer was released. What's expected, however, is that their relationship will likely face a terrible end, similar to what happened to Ellie's first love interest, Riley. She could even be one of the reasons why Ellie's very, very angry with "them."
Emily
Emily is a dangerous woman who works for the Seraphites, believed to be the game's main enemy faction. Though she gets killed by a a certain duo named Yara and Lev, her short appearance might be instrumental to the game's story.
Laura Bailey's unnamed character
Laura Bailey is making an appearance in TLOU2. Although her character remains unnamed at the moment. Fans speculate that she could be Ellie's mother, but that remains unconfirmed as of the moment.
