Players on the Nintendo Switch will be glad to know that a popular and highly-acclaimed RPG is being ported to the portable game console -- that is if the rumors prove true.

Rumors of CD Projekt RED's "The Witcher 3" being ported to the Switch started appearing two months ago, due to a listing made by a French retailer, online outlet NintendoSoup reported. Now, there's a new listing that seems to imply that the title will be making its way to the Switch in one way or another.

According to YouTuber Doctre81, CDPR put up a job listing for a "Head of Software Engineering at GOG Galaxy," someone who can "imagine a desktop application" that allows players from different platforms -- GOG.com, Steam, Microsoft Xbox, Sony PlayStation, and the Nintendo Switch -- to gather in just one place.

Although one could easily point out that the listing is for GOG Galaxy, and that there's virtually no mention of any of The Witcher's titles anywhere in the listing, it's important to note that CDPR also owns the GOG platform. The outlet says that based on this, it's possible that they are behind the said port if ever it's happening behind the scenes.

In addition, Game Rant notes that the job listing implies that CDPR sees a lot of potential in Nintendo's portable console. If they're looking for someone who has some interest or knowledge about the Switch, then it's likely that they're producing something for the platform. It could very well be The Witcher 3.

Some fans, however, are quick to cast some doubt on the rumored port. Over at Nintendo Life, some players point out that The Witcher is very demanding graphics-wise, which means the Switch might have a hard time running it at a playable framerate.

Some also noted that porting the game over to the Switch would be a difficult undertaking, one that might require a graphics downgrade. Because of this, some of them don't believe that the rumor is true.

A comment from a certain Sculptor, however, pointed out that modders were able to downgrade The Witcher 3 so that it can be run on an old PC, emphasizing that if it can be made to run on a "potato PC," it can be ported to the Switch. How that happens, however, remains a mystery to the general populace as of the moment.

If the rumors are true, then Switch owners will be able to play The Witcher 3 wherever they go with their consoles. But since nothing has been confirmed at the moment, it would be best to take it all with a grain of salt.
