The city is in chaos. Gotham has been that way for a while and will continue to be which is why Jim Gordon needs an initiative to settle things down, at least, for now. Gotham Season 5 episode 9 presents a place that has been isolated from the rest of the world.

With the water shortage already causing problems, the people watching the metro's situation needs to see the light of day. With this in mind, Gordon must initiate cessation of hostilities if only to appease the outside dimension watching the unrest unfolds in Gotham Season 5.

Negotiations for a truce among the lawless bands are underway. Gordon should make it work. The talks occur but an unfortunate event happens. A bullet finds the detective. Being a lover to Lee Thompkins and a father to Barbara's child seems to fade as the reality of being shot sinks in.

The trial of Ben McKenzie's character will soon begin. It's quite surprising how a bullet can suddenly throw Gordon into a hazy and delusionary state. He emerges in a courtroom to find his self, Thompkins and the orphan boy killed during the attack in Haven.

The detective is up for yet another battle, only this time it will be a struggle to save himself from his faults and the repercussions of his past actions. Donal Logue's Harvey Bullock sets the tone of the trial. He puts the blame on Barbara and the Penguin but Oswald Cobblepot's villain character points out that the bullet came from the outside.

It will soon become apparent that the lead which hit Gordon belong to Victor Zsasz. Of course, Gotham City Police will not take the matter lightly. It is definitely a huge deal when one of the metro's law enforcers gets shot by a callous character.

Of considerable importance is the stature of Detective Bullock. Associated for so long with Gordon, he is the ideal cop who continues to sustain his selfless and honorable existence. Here is a man that has been doubted from the very beginning but ends up to be a hero for all.

On the other end, Gotham Season 5 brings two essential characters together. David Mazouz's Bruce Wayne and Camren Bicondova's Selina Kyle are on a seemingly sweet date until the former blurted out his frustration that the city is better off without him.

Their discussion is interrupted by the intruding Poison Ivy who is portrayed by Maggie Geha. Soon, Wayne will be under the spell of the latter until Bullock realizes that Zsasz's actions against the city police is aligned with what happened to the emerging Batman in Gotham Season 5 episode 9.
