Google is making the Chrome dark mode through Google Chrome 73 in the macOS Mojave.
On March 12, Google has officially launched the Chrome 73 for macOS Mojave. The rollout includes the most talked about dark mode. Users may have to look again as the Chrome dark mode for macOS may oftentimes be mistaken as opening a window in Incognito mode as both possess similar hues.
The Chrome 73 dark mode launch is a system level official update which will just go with the users' preferred settings and will not require them to switch back manually should they wish to go back to the lighter mode. The update comes completely opposite as the dark mode-esque styles theme that Google has offered for the first time in the past.
Users need not worry about the matching of menu bars with the Chrome 73 dark mode on macOS Mojave as Google has just the right answer. Chrome will automatically adjust the menu bars and icons colors appropriately to match with the dark theme.
The dark mode has been a fad for the past few months with apps switching away from one after the other from the lighter colored theme. Chrome 73 dark modes for macOS Mojave which was announced last month and has been in beta testing since then is an optional feature so it will be upon the users' discretion to update, to stay or to switch back.
Aside from the dark mode, Chrome 73 includes better organizing of multiple tabs through tab grouping, swapping away from an active video made easy through an automatic picture in picture enabled option as well support for keyboard media keys.
To take full advantage of the dark theme, Chrome 73 can now be availed through the Chrome website. For devices with Chrome installed, an update button can be an easier option. Chrome 73, however, is still not available for Windows as of the moment.
First introduced in the macOS Sierra as the darker menu bar and dock, the dark mode on macOS Mojave, on the other hand, darkens the entire operating system meaning darker mode on apps, windows, menu bar as well as docks and this time, on the web browser comes to the Chrome 73 dark mode to complete the set.
For users who have not updated to a dark theme macOS Mojave yet, updating is so easy. Go to System Preference, head towards the General section and simply proceed to choose the darker appearance from the options.
