Recently, reports surfaced that Apple has approved the production of its long-awaited wireless charging mat, the AirPower. It has been previously reported that the product faces some challenges developing the said accessory. Thus, the recent news supports the rumors that have been released by the supply chains.

On the previous month, the known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from the TF International Securities mentioned that the AirPower will launch in the first half of this year. Along with the new AirPods. However, the specific release date of the product is not yet clear. Kuo is also expecting a new iPod touch with a faster processor in the first half of 2019. But there are no signs with regards to the expected product, according to 9To5Mac.

Thus, Apple has announced some of its latest products. On Monday, the company unveiled the new iPads. Followed by the new iMacs on Tuesday, and the latest AirPods on Wednesday all of that within this week. Hence, rumors have surfaced that the AirPower could be announced Friday or early next week.

The WSJ reported that "The company earlier this year approved production of a wireless-charging pad called AirPower, according to people familiar with the matter. It had announced the product in late 2017. AirPower, which would allow users to charge the new AirPods and an iPhone simultaneously, has been delayed by product-development challenges, the people said. Apple typically announces new products within months of beginning production. An Apple spokeswoman declined to comment on AirPower."

Initially, Apple said that the AirPower will be released in 2018. However, the year went on without the said release. Thus, the company has not said about anything with regards to the wireless mat in the following months.

Furthermore, the AirPower is designed to charge multiple Apple devices at once. It includes the iPhone 8 and the new Apple Watch Series 3 and the latest AirPods. Consumers can charge all it when they are placed on the AirPower.

Meanwhile, the tech giant will be holding a media event this coming March 25 at the Steve Jobs Theater. It has been widely expected to unveil the news and streaming video services.
