Being the social media savvy that he is, OnePlus Founder and CEO Pete Lau is sharing his excitement about their new phones. His Twitter feed is filled with official teasers of the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. Both Smartphones are scheduled to be announced next month, and Lau is nothing more but giddy about the event.
Lau's fresh Tweet speaks volumes of what users can expect from the OnePlus 7 Pro. It will be the flagship partner of the regular OnePlus 7, and it is poised to clash with some of the market's reputable devices such as the Galaxy S10, iPhone X and the P30 Pro. He recently spoke with The Verge and briefed the website about the true meaning behind "Fast and Smoooth."
As far as the world knows, OnePlus prides itself with speed that the company makes it as a staple expression in the taglines of their devices. The OnePlus 7 Pro on the other hand will bolster beyond speed; rather, it will "redefine fast and smooth," thanks to its novel display. Lau claims that they are spending "three times as much" on the OnePlus 7 Pro than its predecessors.

Lau even went on to exaggerate things a bit, just like what he did when he put 2 extra Os on the word "smooth." The CEO says that he was "stunned" when he saw the device for "the first time." The Verge also quoted Lau promise that the OnePlus 7 Pro will be "super-smooth and very crisp," while at the same time reviving previous rumors of a 90Hz refresh rate.
"Smooth is more challenging that Fast" is another phrase Lau used to hype the OnePlus 7 Pro. This, plus the rumored refresh rate can definitely boost the new OnePlus device to the upper ranks of the industry. The website particularly mentioned that gaming-centric phones like the Razr 1 and 2 and the Asus ROG are the only devices that went beyond the traditional 60Hz refresh rate.
GSM Arena says that a 90Hz display on a non-gaming Smartphone is a "welcome feature." This will make the phone's User Interface and transitions appear "much better," making for a better user experience and lag-free navigation. If Lau is on point that they are spending more on the OnePlus 7 Pro's display, then we're in for such a treat.
Be that as it may, the OnePlus 7 Pro won't come cheap, especially now that Lau has confirmed that they're throwing some extra cash for the production of the "breakthrough" display and a 5G version. The Verge says that the new display is a "big and risky investment," and that its success will center on how users take the new display of the OnePlus 7 Pro.
