It's been four years since Mad Men premiered its series finale on AMC. But while it's long gone now, many people are still asking if the popular drama series will still return for a new season.

Sadly, Mad Men Season 8 is not happening. It did not happen a few years ago, and it will not happen in the future. As it happens, the chapters for all the characters in the plot are already sealed and done.

The success of Mad Men ever since it first aired in 2007 is quite unbeatable in respect to AMC's current and soon-to-be series materials. And although the production, along with the network could still make something out of the show, they did not pursue extending the series.

This decision of theirs just fits even if it does hurt everyone involved, especially the lead cast members of the show. Nevertheless, the way Mad Men has ended in its course has become a very satisfactory conclusion. And this is why having Mad Men Season 8 would only break its impressive finale.

According to GQ, there will never be another season for Mad Men and any other series that will beat Mad Men's apparent greatness because everyone already invested everything, especially the writers and showrunners. From the financial aspect to the emotional investment that everyone put into the course of the show. And these are the basis as to why Mad Men has become one of the best series of all time in the history of television.

Just to name a few of the show's accolades, Mad Men received 16 Emmy and five Golden Globes awards in totality. Not to mention that its first four seasons are named as the Oustanding Drama Series of its respective years. Hence, the cancellation of Mad Men Season 8 is just huge respect given to the legacy of the show.

Even so, the show's imminent yet fitting ending is still a "super painful" moment for everyone, especially for its lead star, Jon Hamm. During the press tour way back in 2015, the actor blatantly expressed his sarcasm about the finale of the show.

While being sarcastic by stating that he is thrilled to be unemployed and happy to no longer see his Mad Men family, he, later on, explained how painful it is to let go of the thing that has been constant in his creative life. Nevertheless, he mentioned that a spin-off would suffice and specifically if it would carry the title "Better Call Pete" referencing to Breaking Bad's spin-off, Better Call Saul.

But all in all, Mad Men Season 8 will never happen amid all the clamor of the fandom.
