Back in March of this year, a news story broke that rocked the world of K-pop. Seungri, who rose to fame as a member of the wildly popular and influential group Big Bang, was accused of “supplying prostitutes” to VIP customers at a night club in Seoul.
During the investigation, it was found that Seungri gifted three Big Bang concert tickets to Senior Superintendent Yoon. At the time, the police confirmed that Senior Superintendent Yoon did not pay for his portion of the expenses from a meal and golf game with Seungri and Yoo In Suk, who managed the club along with the former Big Bang star.
The officer was previously booked for leaking official confidential information, and he has now been booked for violating the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act as well. The Improper Solicitation and Graft Act (also referred to as the Kim Young Ran Act) is an anti-corruption law that prohibits individuals from giving and receiving bribes.
Reportedly, Superintendent Yoon revealed confidential police information to Yoo In Suk. But the latest update revealed that Senior Superintendent Yoon had been found innocent of receiving bribes from former Big Bang member Seungri. Although he was cleared from the bribery accusations, he was found guilty for using his power to obstruct justice.
The police will also forward Senior Inspector “A” of the Gangnam Police Station’s Financial Crime Team as an accomplice for relaying confidential information to Senior Superintendent Yoon, as well as Senior Inspector “B,” the head officer in charge of the case at the time, for violating the confidentiality agreement as a police officer by revealing official information.
However, the police revealed that it is difficult to recognize a reason for charging Senior Superintendent Yoon of violating the Enforcement Decree of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act.
The investigation into his alleged bribery case is now being closed. However, the case will be reinvestigated if further evidence is revealed in the future.

It all goes back to Seungri, who was once nicknamed “the Great Gatsby of Korea” for his opulent lifestyle. But per authorities, the former Big Bang star’s lifestyle was not simply luxurious — it was criminal.
