The Apple WWDC 2019 keynote event is just a few days away but fans and analysts are still talking about the new macOS 10.15. Among the favorite topics includes the next official name of the operating software for its Mac. The other one is about the latest features that consumers can expect from the long-awaited and newer operating system version.
What Will Be The New Name?
There is an interesting history of how the Cupertino-based tech-giant comes up with the patented names of its products and devices. The trademark review process, of course, has played a major part in the result of the company's official product names. So far, the remaining live trademark applications filed by Apple include Monterey, Mammoth, Skyline, and Rincon.
According to MacRumors, the most interesting name is Mammoth, which could be associated with the Mammoth Lakes or the Mammoth Mountain. These are popular areas for hiking and skiing in the mountains of Sierra Nevada, ring a bell? Interestingly, after several years of delays, the application for the trademark application of Mammoth was accepted and approved just this month.
The US Patent and Trademark Office allowed the trademark Mammoth to be used by the Cupertino-based tech titan last May 7. It is highly likely that it is just a coincidence, but given the upcoming WWDC 2019, many analysts do not think so. It could also be the three remaining trademark applications namely Monterey, Rincon, and Skyline. Will it be one of these four names or will Apple come up with an entirely different name?
What To Expect From the New macOS?
This year could be a great and big one for the Apple macOS. Last year, the Cupertino-based tech giant revealed its plan for a project with a code name Marzipan. In this project, Mac developers will be given the chance to develop Mac apps utilizing the same UI Kit framework used in iOS apps with the use of the existing AppKit framework that is widely used today.
Apple gave the first look at what the apps will look in the macOS Mojave. The apps are Voice recorder, Home, Voice, and Stocks. In the upcoming macOS 10.15, tech analysts are looking forward to seeing these four apps along with other apps and hopefully several major enhancements. A possible break up with iTunes might be happening, which will separate the Apple TV, Music, and other Podcasts apps.
According to speculations, macOS10.15 will enable the use of the iPod as a subsequent display. Some claim that the Siri will finally be on the Mac. Experts are also expecting to see the Messages app of Mac to receive new and exciting features like effects and stickers.
