Meghan McCain recently called United States President Donald Trump 'a child' for having USS John McCain removed from view.
The daughter of the late Senator John McCain is yet again vexed with the President. This was after a report came out asserting that the President of the U.S. had preferred the destroyer to be "out of sight." McCain came out Wednesday evening to reiterate her opinion that Trump will never stop feeling "deeply threatened" by her father.
In her Tweet which she posted at the time the President was away on his state visit to Japan, the 34-year-old columnist once more went on a tirade against Trump, saying in her social media message that she has gotten a "lot of criticism" regarding how often she defends and speaks out in defense of her father. But she insists that Trump has not allowed him to rest in peace, even after nine months since his death. That is why she feels she has to stand up for the late Senator, she tweeted.
She shared that what Trump is doing was making her "grief unbearable." Her message was posted soon after a report came out that the President had purportedly asked the United States Navy that the aforementioned Navy destroyer named after McCain's dad be "out of sight" while he was in Japan.
This communication was purportedly an email message from Trump dated May 15, which even asked that "#3" on a list of instructions be "confirmed." This report stated that some officials which included Patrick Shanahan, the Defense Secretary, had given a go signal to measures that ensured that indeed the said Arleigh-Burke-class destroyer would not be sighted anywhere near, during Trump's trip.
The vessel had been docked at the Yokosuka Base where another ship, the USS Wasp, was also stationed. It is remembered that the President and the First Lady had gone on board the latter ship during the Memorial Day ceremony that was observed during the said trip to the Asian nation.
Based on that Wall Street Journal report, the ship was said to have been concealed under tarp, just enough to obscure its name. The White House has not been forthcoming with a response to requests for comment on the matter at the time.
However, on Thursday, the President spoke in a press conference to address the matter. He explained that it was not he who had asked for the USS John McCain to be placed out of sight.
He stated that it was the doing of some who had meant to be "well-meaning." He went on to remark that those who had done that were trying to do him "a favor." This was because those people had known that he was no "fan" of the late Senator McCain.
