Chinese tech titan Huawei, according to the latest reports is geared to ship almost 225 million devices already running on HongMeng orArk OS. The shipment is expected to start before the year ends, specifically by October 2019. This move from Huawei is their official response to the latest issue about the US sanction.

Shipment of HongMeng OS Pre-loaded Devices

For the initial stages, Huawei will concentrate equipping the budget smartphone division with the HongMeng OS. So far, this is the company's solution to meet the needs of its users. As for the top tier devices, they will have to wait a little longer since the company-owned OS do not have a wide app ecosystem yet.

A recent report from Rosenblatt Securities revealed that Huawei has already shipped around 1 million devices pre-loaded with the HongMeng OS. The report further revealed that Huawei's proprietary OS will work and will be compatible with all Android apps. The pre-loaded devices will have increased security functionalities to maximize the user's personal data.

According to Huawei's Richard Yu, the company's proprietary OS is ready to be installed on all devices like mobile phones, tablets, cars, TVs, and everything that you can install it on. China made a vague but ominous warning earlier this month. It will make a list of unreliable foreign businesses, individuals, and organizations in what could be interpreted as the country's retaliation on Huawei's US sanctions.

Huawei's HongMeng/Ark OS Allegedly Is Faster Than Android

Following the US trade ban, the Chinese tech giant is not keeping all its eggs in a single basket. So far, Huawei has not yet started any negotiations with the US government. While Google is working out with the US government to lift the US sanction of Huawei, the Chinese tech titan already prepared for their Android replacement.

Pegged as Ark OS or HongMeng OS, the company has begun patenting the trademark in many countries. Huawei collaborated with Tencent and made several tests on its proprietary OS with several other smartphone manufacturers like Oppo and Vivo. The test was conducted to see how the Ark OS fare against Android OS.

The result revealed that the Ark OS performs 60 percent faster than Android. Many tech analysts expect that Huawei will start shipping new devices running on their proprietary OS next year. This could include the Huawei P40 and Mate series. Another source revealed that Huawei has already shipped more than a million devices with the Ark OS or HongMeng OS. So far, it is not yet known if these devices are available in the market.
