Golden State Warriors Guard Klay Thompson tore his ACL. The NBA superstar suffered the injury in the third quarter of the game. Raptor's Danny Green was contesting a shot and the GSW guard was thrown off balance on his way down prior to the awkward twisting of his knee.
GSW guard Klay Thompson exited the Game 6 of the NBA Finals with more than a couple of minutes remaining in the third quarter. He suffered from a left knee injury and was subjected to MRI in the Bay Area. Based on the MRI result, Thompson suffered from a torn left ACL or Anterior Cruciate Ligament.

After his fall, he remained for a minute and went to the locker room. However, since he was awarded a couple of free throws, he could not go just yet. If he left, he will not be eligible to come back in the game.
Several Staffers prevented him from leaving and brought him to the court to serve his free throws. An outstanding goal shooter, Thompson managed to hit the free throws and immediately went to the locker room. To get off the court, DeMarcus Cousins gave up a foul. Fans were waiting for his return but he was later seen leaving the arena with crutches.
ESPN's Doris Burke reported that while Thompson was in the locker room he told his father a couple of times that he did not hear his knee pop when he landed. The GSW guard was seen jumping repeatedly in the locker room in an attempt to remain warm and return to the game. Despite his effort, he was not able to return and the Warriors ruled Thompson out of the game.
Klay Thompson made 30 points in the Game 6 of the NBA Finals before he exited. GSW Head Coach Steve Kerr revealed that Thompson has plans of returning on the floor. The GSW guard even told him on his way to the locker to give him a couple of minutes to rest and he will be ready.
Thompson appeared in 78 games and averages 21.5 points during the regular season. It can be recalled that the five-time All-Star also missed the first playoff game of his career in the league when he strained his hamstring during the second game of the 2019 NBA Finals. Klay Thompson's injury came a game after GSW lost Kevin Durant to another injury caused by a ruptured Achilles tendon.
