Amanda Bynes recently got into trouble with the law while slowly planning her comeback after a relapse she had in 2018. However, she has been let off the hook. It seems that the treatment center, who filed a lawsuit against her for allegedly not paying for her treatment, has now dropped the case.
Creative Care Treatment Center had sued the 33-year-old actress for allegedly not paying for the treatment she had been receiving in the center. Inside sources have obtained some of the official court papers in which the institution declared that Bynes was a short-term patient at their facility and had been receiving treatment there for two days back in February. She was placed under the center's "dual diagnosis residential treatment center."
The center charges patients a monthly rate of $37,000. If the monthly rate were to be divided by 30 days, the rate per day would be at $1,233.33. So, seeing as she was at the center only for a shorter time, the center decided to charge her a fee only for her two days as an in-patient there.
That would be equal to about $2,467 when rounded up. But, the Easy A actress did not hold up her end of the bargain and pay what she was due.
Inside sources have also revealed the reason the What A Girl Wants actress checked herself in the Los Angeles treatment center earlier this year. The American actress had made the decision after going through a setback in December 2018.
That was caused by the tremendous pressure she was under while she was slowly easing back into the spotlight, after gracing the cover of Paper magazine for its November 2018 issue. It was a bitter relapse for the star, after being sober for four years already. As many would recall, her very public breakdown happened back in 2014.
The actress was meeting and consulting with one of the best doctors her money could buy. She sought treatment with numerous reputable mental health counselors and a handful of addiction specialists as well.
In April, Tamar Arminak, her lawyer, released an update about the former child star, saying her client was now doing great and taking some well-deserved time off to focus more on herself and her needs. Bynes has been taking a break after graduating from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in December of last year.
As for the matter of the lawsuit by Creative Care, Bynes will have nothing to worry about, since the aforementioned center has cryptically dropped all the charges against her.
