It appears that the LA Lakers may not be totally done after the Anthony Davis trade. If the recent rumors are true, we might soon see Chris Paul joining the bandwagon to reinforce the team.

Just recently LA Lakers finally closed the much-awaited move to welcome Anthony Davis. Surprisingly, new reports claim that Chris Paul of Houston Rockets wanted his current team to trade him this summer. The report came from the blog Space City Scoop, which picked up the story from Stephen A. Smith. The American sports TV personality said that Chris Paul may want to join his friend LeBron James on LA Lakers.

According to the blog, the TV sports personality hints that Chris Paul's preferred team after Houston Rockets would be the LA Lakers. But, he admits that he still does not know how James would feel about this kind of trade; with the assumption that the team is consulting James on crucial team moves.

While the report suggests that the TV sports personality might be mostly speculating on Chris Paul's willingness to be traded to LA Lakers, it appears that Smith was really confident about the talks that Paul wants out of his current team. Reporter Brian Windhorst seems to agree with Smith's statement like he has heard the same rumor from the same sources.

The trade with Anthony Davis fueled a firestorm of speculations on the next potential move the LA Lakers may have under its sleeves after a very disappointing season in the NBA with LeBron on their boat. There are speculations that the NBA team is eyeing Kemba Walker to have the powerful three bring the team to be the Western Conference strong contender.

Some claim that LA Lakers still need more strategic moves before they could compete with the existing superpowers in NBA's Western Conference. The Anthony Davis' trade could be an early indicator but, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks, it is too early to rate because so much depends on what LA Lakers will do next.

So far, it is not yet clear if Chris Paul is the point guard that the LA Lakers would like to have. However, the Houston Rockets might be willing to give him up for the right price. The Houston Rockets is willing to trade any of its players except James Harden since the team is also looking to retool to finally defeat the Golden State Warriors, says CBS Sports.

Does the LA Lakers possess the assets to pull off the potential trade after its recent move of shipping too many assets? Well, that remains to be seen.
