"Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" was announced during the E3 2019. CyberConnect 2 and Bandai Namco Entertainment unveiled the gameplay of the new and upcoming title. Although the gameplay trailer gave away some details of the game, the fans are still reeling to know more. Thankfully, DualShockers shared a recent interview with the game's producer and director, which shed some more details of what the fans can expect from the upcoming title.

Expansive World With Many Wide Regions

When "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" was launched, it was a general knowledge that the game would be a departure from the traditional fighting games that the franchise has been offering. It was introduced as an open-world title just like "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," "Elder Scrolls," and "Legend of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild." But, based on the recent interview, it appears that the upcoming title is technically, not an open-world game.

According to the "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" producer Hara Ryosuke, the game is not an open-world in the same concept that players have come to know based on the video games available today. Instead, it will contain seven expansive regions that players can explore. These regions, according to Ryosuke-san can be unlocked as the player progresses through the game and offer various sagas of the story of Son Goku based on the popular anime "Dragon Ball Z."

Storyline and Character Progression

"Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" follows the main storyline of the hit anime series. In terms of growth and character progression, Ryosuke-san does not believe that there will be too many surprises but since the game is an RPG, there will be the element of experience and players can level up. The game producer also revealed that players can achieve other traits like increased flying exploration and training the character.

He added that there would be characters in "Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" that will work with the player to achieve a common objective. There is also a single but big gameplay mechanic involved with combat and character progression. Interestingly, Son Goku can eat in the game that can regen his HP. Ryosuke also disclosed that Son Goku would get a permanent stat buff with a permanent effect based on hoe the paler feeds him. The game producer underlined that there is a core game cycle of keeping him fed.

"Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot" is the first Single player RPG based on the popular anime "Dragon Ball Z" series. The game will be released on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox on the early part of 2020.
