On July 2, Xiaomi will release two variants of the much-awaited Xiaomi CC9 Meitu. A recent post in Weibo made by the official Xiaomi account has already confirmed that the Chinese smartphone maker is releasing the Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition along with the Xiaomi CC9 Meitu.

Several days ago, Xiaomi insiders were on their feet leaking details about the upcoming next-generation smartphone. Popular Xiaomi insiders Xiaomishka and Sudhanshu Ambhore disclosed that Xiomi would release three new smartphones in the coming week. These are the Xiaomi CC9 Meitu, the Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition, and the Xiaomi CC9e Meitu. Although the insider did not mention about the custom edition, he said that one of the variants would have a different design.

But, just recently, the speculations that surround the much-awaited device finally ended when Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced the Xiaomi CC9 Meitu. On the Chinese social networking site Weibo, the CEO shared juicy details about the upcoming smartphone. He even gave a sample of a picture taken at almost no light environment using the Xiaomi CC9 Meitu to boost the device's AI low-light photography prowess.

So far, the Xiaomi CC9 Meitu is anticipated to arrive armed with Snapdragon 730. It will sport a 6.2-inch waterdrop notch enabled display. Additionally, the device will house 48-megapixel triple rear cameras and a 32-megapixel front-facing camera with a 4,000mAh battery pack. In regards to the Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Custom edition, it is not yet clear if it will be released with the same specs as the base variant. The Xiaomi CC9 Meitu will be released with 256 GB storage and 8 GB RAM. According to rumors, it will be available at around 3,099 Yuan or approximately $450. Based on the post of Xiaomi's CEO on Weibo, the Xiaomi CC9 Meitu targets the youth with its cool and chick tag line. Most likely the Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition will have higher specs, with a little variation in design as it is rumored to have a much higher price.

Last November 2018, Xiaomi entered into an agreement with Meitu and the Xiaomi CC9 Meitu series is the fruit of that strategic collaboration. The AI low-light photography is the photo algorithm from Meitu. As for the colors of the upcoming devices, so far, they will be available in two color variants, which are the Dark Blue Planet and the White Lovers.
