Xiaomi's 5G phone, the Xiomi Mi Mix 3 5G will soon debut in China and Europe. Redmi, the company's sub-brand is also preparing to launch its very own 5G devices. The latest news came directly straight from the company's general manager

During the recent MWC Shanghai, Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing shared that before the year ends, there will be a 5G device that will cost less than $300. The general manager further said that while the 4G changed the lives of the people, the 5G will change society. Also, Weibing claims that the next-generation network will aid in the development of new and innovative apps for smartphone devices.

At this point, it is hard to tell how 5G will directly impact the app development industry, but it will change the On The Go experience. As an example of 5G prowess, the technology will enable us to download UHD movies in just a few minutes. Although there are many companies claiming that they have 5G technology on their devices, some of them are simply on the paper.

Like Redmi, its sister company, Black Shark also shared that its R and D team has been gearing for the arrival of 5G technology. The company will also release a 5G device in the nearest future. On Weibo, Black Shark CEO Peter Wu noted that a Black Shark 5G model is in the works.

Black Shark's latest smartphone model is available at around $625, if they are going to release a new device, it will most likely be released with a $680 to $700 price tag. So far, these are all announcements from both Redmi and Black Shark and both companies have not yet revealed any release window for the said 5G devices. However, 5G devices are expected to be released in 2020, so most likely, the release window for the 5G devices of both companies will be released at around that time.

Redmi and its parent brand Xiaomi are known to introduce innovative products with killer specs at insanely affordable prices. Their devices are usually loaded with features usually found on top tier flagship devices. One of their devices that offers great value for money is the Mi Mix 3 5G, which is the first-ever 5G device of the company.

It is only available at around $681, which is around several hundred dollars cheaper compared to 5G devices offered by Samsung and Huawei.
