Most of the time, we often hear the advice that If you want to be healthy and live longer, make sure to stay fit. Given this reason, more and more people are encouraged to burn off their carbs by investing a lot of effort and even thousands of money for it.

There are several things a person can do to be able to burn fats. Some of those are by eating high-protein breakfast, avoiding overly-sweetened foods, drinking enough water, eating high-fiber foods, and drinking coffee, as reported by Health Line.  Unfortunately, everyone can attest how following these steps can be really hard. Good thing a recent research has a newly discovered way to cut an extra pound, which is way easier and more exciting compared to others.

The recent study presented at the ENDO 2019 at the Endocrine Society's annual meeting in New Orleans, LA showed how falling in love can actually play a successful weight loss strategy for people who want to achieve a healthier physique. Experts behind the study claims, the magic of its effectiveness lies in the hormones produced by the body once one falls in love, which is oxytocin.

But how does oxytocin can really push the body to lose weight? As reported by an online health blog named Body and Soul, oxytocin can actually help in weight loss by controlling eating behaviors, which could possibly treat obesity.

In order to come up with this discovery, the researchers asked 10 young men to participate in the study. Every one of them is overweight but healthy. Throughout the study, for two times, some of them were given a dose of oxytocin nasal spray. Others, on the other hand, were given placebo, without them having any idea of what has been given to them. After an hour, the experts then determine whether any changes in the blood flow of the brain happened by letting the participants undergo a functional magnetic resonance imaging or fMRI.

The researchers eventually found out that compared to those that have been given placebo, participants who were given oxytocin now have weaker brain areas related to food motivation. This explains why the participants that have been given oxytocin dose have higher resistance against the temptation of the delicious but high-calorie food, such as donuts and chocolates.

Oxytocin, also known as the "love hormone", is actually a hormone produced in the specific part of the brain called hypothalamus. Once has been produced, the posterior pituitary will be in charged to release it to the body. This hormone plays an important role in anxiety, social interaction, sexual reproduction, trust, mother-infant bonding, and childbirth.
