Disney is about to begin building Marvel attractions in its park in no time. After the announcement of constructing Marvel-themed Land, there will be a new Spider-Man ride in Disney California Adventure and Disneyland Paris.
WDW News Today revealed the fist Spider-Man ride concept art, giving the first look at the new attraction. It showed the ride's interior. So after the guests wind their way through the bowels of Stark Motors, they will be seated in a red-and-blue pod-looking vehicle.
It looks like the ride has its vehicle entrance that can be accessed through a side hatch. It may feature a sliding door, as the pods seem to be enclosed with a glass window in front of each seat.
The new Disney ride may also be riding on top the track instead of going down, which may be different from experiencing Spider-Man's move when he is swinging from one building to another. Slash Film already wrote the company's new patent years ago about the "Track-Based Swing Ride with Long Arm Pendulum," which might be the new Spider-Man ride.
At the time, it said Disney's goal is to design a ride system that would give guests a different experience similar to the feeling of being with Tarzan or the same character that swings on a vine or webs like Spider-Man. This ride would give a swinging sensation while traveling along a ride path that would make riders feeling thrilled.
With this new ride, Disney aims to introduce a new story element about the Avengers. Here, the group of heroes is setting up new Headquarters and training facilities around the world to inspire potential recruits who are willing to join the assembly.
As part of this plan, Tony Stark founded the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (WEB) to work on super-powered technology advancements. Their first project will be including new enhancements to Spider-Man's suit. As he brings together the brightest young investor from all over the globe, the WEB will be creating new interfaces that will inspire everyone to join the ranks of Earth's Mightiest.
Disney aims to build an interconnected experience between the new Marvel attractions amongst its theme parks, just like how it connected its cinematic universe. The Spider-Man ride is only one of the initiatives that may connect it to other attractions like the Iron Man Experience, Ant-Man, and the Wasp: Nano Battle!, and Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission - BREAKOUT!, among others.
Disney is expected to drop major details about its new attractions at the coming D23 Expo next month. The new Spider-Man ride will be opened to the public in 2020 at Disney California Adventure and in 2021 at Disneyland Paris.
