Apple is probably exploring various ways on how it could incorporate an in-screen fingerprint reader on its iPhone 2021 Model. That is according to Ming-Chi Kuo, the popular analyst from TF International Securities who has been given us many accurate predictions. Also, the analyst predicts that the Cupertino-based tech titan will roll out support not only for Face ID but also for Touch ID for the company's 2021 flagship smartphones.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is back once again and this time predicting many things about the future products of Apple particularly the iPhone 2021 Model. Since future iterations from Apple are anticipated to feature OLED screens, it will be much simpler for Apple to use under-display fingerprint scanners. In the latest report, Kuo predicts that the Cupertino tech giant is trying to unify the experiences of both the fingerprint and facial recognition.
It can be recalled that Apple has filed several patents related to fingerprint and facial recognition. This could mean that Apple might soon offer support for these security features. Apple did not push to develop the in-screen fingerprint scanner despite its competitors launching their devices with this feature simply because the authentication process is too slow compared to the customary fingerprint reader in iPhones.
Also, these scanners consume more juice, their modules are awkwardly bulky, and they require too much production time. The analyst believes that Apple will get rid of these restrictions soon to provide users with a seamless experience. Kuo predicts that these will be offered by the iPhone 2021 Model.
To offer extra flexibility, it is possible that the Cupertino-based tech giant might utilize a sensor to cover a big part of the display of the iPhone 2021 Model. This way, users will be able to place the finger anywhere to gain access to the smartphone instead of putting the registered fingerprint in one particular area of the phone. Ming-Chi Kuo also predicts that if the Apple Watch would be able to have a security feature soon, it will most likely use an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
