The journey of Anthony Davis with the Los Angeles Lakers has not yet started, but at this point, there are already rumors where he might end up in the next NBA season. In reality, Davis was offered a lot of opportunities to ink a deal with the Lakers, but it appears that he has declined those. It seems that the NBA star, at this point, would like to see how things would play out with the team this season and if the things do not work the way he wants it, he could be a free agent by next summer.

One of the teams that have always been associated with Anthony Davis is the New York Knicks. The team was not able to score the NBA star in the trade market this NBA season. However, it does not mean that the team has already taken its eyes on the big man of the NBA All-Star. In a report by Marc Berman of the New York Post, he said that the New York Knicks are still interested with Anthony Davis.

Seemingly, the feeling is mutual, and according to a source close to Anthony Davis, he would not mind if his client plays with Gotham soon. The New York Knicks is flushed with cap space and were anticipated to be a major player in the NBA free agency with a lot of talks last season that they might acquire Kevin Durant and perhaps Kyrie Irving. The Knicks was full of hope earlier for this possibility along with the chance of winning the draft lottery to get Zion Williamson.

Since Anthony Davis has yet to play a single game for the Los Angeles Lakers, it is a little too early to worry about what he will do in the NBA free agency. But, it is also a reminder that this season is very important for the LA Lakers. Expectations are high that the duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis will help the Lakers get into the NBA championship game.

If the team will not be able to achieve anywhere near that target during Anthony Davis' first year in the team, he might think again about staying in the LA Lakers. Would the New York Knicks be the team to get him off the LA Lakers? Most likely this might not happen unless Davis wants to be in the same position than he was in the New Orleans,

But, should Anthony Davis becomes unhappy with the Lakers and think of moving to the Brooklyn Nets, it is difficult to imagine what the nets would not do to clear up its cap space and to have Durant, Irving, and Davis on its team.
