Paulo Dybala is seen by some sports analyst as a secondary option behind Cristiano Ronaldo. While the Argentine international does possess the skills necessary to be a top superstar, he is still under the shadow of the Portuguese superstar. Despite rumors claiming that Dybala will soon be dealt with other clubs, Juventus sporting director recently noted that Dybala would stay with the Italian club.
One of the most prominent clubs to have Dybala on their transfer purview is Manchester United. The English club has negotiated with Juventus for a number of times as part of the effort to acquire the Argentine forward. However, it may appear that Juventus is holding on to the young star instead of dealing him to another club.
In a recent statement, Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici said, "The market is open, and there is interest, but there are no names closer to a sale. [Dybala] is a Juve player - indeed, he is a great Juve player. A I said, during the transfer market, there are discussions and negotiations."
Another English club almost completed the transfer for the 25-year-old Argentine player. Tottenham reportedly agreed to Juventus' massive £64.4 million valuation of Dybala. However, Tottenham was unable to complete the deal.
Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri have implied in the past that he is considering not to include Dybala for the club's Champions League squad. This led to a number of speculation regarding the young star's future. Some rumors claim that Juventus heavily favors Ronaldo over Dybala.
There are a number of significant concerns surrounding Ronaldo, chief among these is his age which many analysts have pointed out could be a big factor for his future. While not exactly on the same mold as Ronaldo, Dybala is widely seen as a viable replacement for the Portuguese superstar once he decides to retire or ask for a transfer.
Although the transfer window of the Premier League has already closed, there are still a number of leagues who transfer window is still open. Chief among these are La Liga in Spain, Serie A in Italy, Bundesliga in Germany, Ligue 1 in France. All of which are expected to close their respective transfer window in September.
Aside from Dybala, Juventus is looking to offload some of its talents. Among the names on the list are Daniele Rugani, Mario Mandzukic, Blaise Matuidi, Gonzalo Higuain, and Sami Khedira. Reports claim that Juventus is cash-strapped and is looking to offset said talents in return for much-needed resources.
