It was earlier reported that the first Unova Pokemon will debut in "Pokemon Go" in September. Interestingly, Niantic Labs has already rolled out the support for gen 5 pokemon in the augmented reality game. The discovered support lists a plethora of gen 5 pocket monsters arriving in the game soon.
Gen 5
There are a total of 156 gen 5 pokemon and Twitter user LeekDuck discovered 18 of these powerful pokemon from the recent update 0.153.0 that was rolled out on the Galaxy Store. "Pokemon Go" players have long been waiting for the arrival of these creatures in the game. Unlike other generations, the fifth generation pokemon is consists of original pokemon.
In other words, apart from Gen 2 pokemon, Gen 5 is the first generation not to introduce new baby pokemon or evolutions from other generations. Many Gen 5 pokemon have special conditions associated with their evolutions including high levels of friendship, specific Polemon trading, and a wide range of different evolution stones. In Gen5, there are 9 Legendaries and 4 Mythical Pokemon, which makes this particular generation the first ever to not introduce more Legendaries compared to the previous one.
Global Challenges Details
Niantic Labs already released a list of different bonuses to reward "Pokemon Go" players if they complete all the Global Challenges in the "Pokemon Go" Fest event in Japan. Interestingly, there are more rewards and surprises coming. Niantic Labs is releasing a wide range of Ultra Bonuses to "Pokemon Go" players who managed to clear all the Global Challenges in three "Pokemon Go" Fests. This includes the latest Jirachi-centered Special Research quest dubbed as Thousand-Year Slumber along with the appearance of some of the Gen 5 Pokemon.
