Manchester United plans to hold its ground on its asking price of £179million (€200m) for Paul Pogba when the transfer window opens once more in January.
According to new reports, Manchester United has no plans on lowering the price it is demanding to let go of Paul Pogba. Real Madrid is very adamant about their interest in Pogba though.
According to Sport, Zinedine Zidane will no doubt pursue Pogba once more in January. It remains to be seen if Manchester United will already have a change of mind. The chances of United demanding less of the enormous fee it is currently wanting is quite low though, given its stance now.
Pogba himself is quite determined to go himself though. He is said to be talking about moving to Spain with major Liga names such as Lionel Messi. Bernabeu skipper Sergio Ramos said this of Pogba earlier today: "Real Madrid always has the door open for good players such as him." If only the price can be altered though.
The French World Cup winner is also on the radar of other clubs. Juventus over the summer is said to be eyeing him too after it is made known that Pogba is raring to leave Manchester. "Everyone knows the willingness of Paul to move on. We are in the process of that," agent Mini Raiola said.
Pogba's own brother Mathias, 29 confirmed this desire. Mathias, the Manchego striker revealed to El Chiringuito TV that he is aware that Paul is speaking with certain players. "I know he's spoken with a few players, but not [Sergio] Ramos," he shared. "Messi. Sometimes, not always. Zlatan [Ibrahimovic]. [Antoine] Griezmann, because of the national team," he added.
Specifically with Real Madrid though, Mathias has no clear idea. "I don't know about anyone from Real Madrid. Oh, [Raphael] Varane, yes, and yes, with [Zinedine] Zidane, yes," he said.
Despite this desire to leave, though, Paul Pogba does not have any plans of slacking off while he is still with Manchester. Boss Gunnar Solskjaer believes him a pivotal player and cannot just be let go easily, so he will perform. Mathias said so himself. "Paul knows that he cannot leave Manchester United so he's going to focus on this season," he said.
According to Mirror magazine, Pogba's current United deal is still until 2021. However, the current plan is to not only keep him at the club but also even potentially extend his deal and ward off all suitors.
