It might be a remote possibility - Google unleashing all the Pixel 2019 handset models all at once - but there are reasons to believe it would be the exact scenario to play out real soon. That's because the search giant has been reportedly sounding off its plan rather covertly though there was a giveaway, going by the codename "Needlefish."

Needlefish is reportedly the internal label for an upcoming device from Google. Earlier this year, two codenames, namely "Coral" and "Flame," also surfaced and they supposedly pertain to the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, respectively.

It turned out there is a third device, and this approach by Google was not out of character on account of the Pixel 3 release, its XL version, and the Pixel 3a that was issued months later. This 2019, it will be the same model, but the chance is high Google will launch its new flagship phones in a single roll.

That appears to be what Needlefish was hinting about, per the report by 9to5Google, which first discussed the likelihood of a third Pixel 4 model. According to the blog site, the possibility is there that Needlefish could be a wearable, a tablet, or an ultraportable but the signs all point to a Pixel 4a rollout.

And this will happen at the same time as the unpacking for the Pixel 4 and XL version.

Now the question arises: "Is Google altering its release calendar for the next-generation Pixel?"

Not at all, as suggested by Tech Radar, which pointed to circulating rumors that the original plan for the Pixel 3 was to bring out all the models simultaneously. The release would have placed the Pixel 3a with the regular models and would serve as the budget option.

It didn't unfold as intended for the Pixel 3, but it seems now Google is making some corrections. So with the Pixel 2019 effort, Android fans will have a wider pick. They can go for the regular Pixel 4 or jump for the upsized version that is the Pixel 4 XL.

As for the budget-conscious, the Pixel 4a should be a compelling choice. It may not boast the same hardware specs of its more premium brothers, but like the Pixel 3a before it, the device will be unboxed with more than decent components.

The Pixel 4a could also prove the most popular of the three choices as buyers will practically get the same package - like a killer camera setup and vanilla Android - at a relatively lower price. Rumors have it the Google Pixel 2019 will be released this coming October, and hopefully with the Pixel 4a already in tow.
