Camera and photography enthusiasts are anticipating the announcement and release of GoPro Hero 8, GoPro Hero 8 Black, and GoPro Max this month. With DJI Osmo action already out in the market, GoPro will not let the new competitor dominate the market for a long time without making any response. With the number of leaked images, rumors, and speculations about the next generation action cameras from GoPro, here are the specs and features that will most likely be available when the action cameras are released.

Recently, high-resolution alleged images of GoPro Hero 8, GoPro Hero 8 Black, and GoPro Max have been circulating on the Internet. This gives us more details of the specs and features to anticipate. Thanks to reliable leaker Roland Quandt of Winfuture, we now have an idea of what the upcoming action cameras will be like.

GoPro Hero & GoPro Hero Black

The GoPro Hero 8, GoPro Hero 8 Black, and GoPro Max are shown to have overhauled camera hardware and a new design. Based on the leaks, the GoPro Hero 8 Black is expected to feature a 12 MP sensor that can record 4K at 60 fps or 240 fps in 1080p. The variant will support TimeWarp, special night mode, RAW, and will be able to live stream on youtube and several other platforms.

The GoPro Hero 8 Black can shoot in H.265/HVEC and H.264/AVC. The GoPro variant measures 63 x 45 x 33 mm and weighs 116g. It has a 1220 mAh battery that charges using USB-C at 90 minutes. It supports new accessories and has a redesigned external chassis where removable accessories could be integrated.

The redesigned chassis integrated a microphone with a couple of accessory mounts that support the second display as well as the GoPro Light Mod. It has Floating Fingers, which are a couple of fold-out mounts capable of supporting selfie sticks and tripods.

GoPro Max

The GoPro Max, on the other hand, is the new 360-degree camera from GoPro capable of recording up to 4K at 60 fps or 2.7K at 120 fps. It also comes with Floating Fingers similar to that of GoPro Hero and GoPro Hero Black. The battery life of GoPro Max is expected to be at 1220 mAh which can be fully charged at around 90 minutes.

Despite the leaked images showing GoPro Hero 8, GoPro Hero 8 Black, and GoPro Max, these are in no way an official confirmation of the specs and features of the upcoming action cameras from GoPro. Just like all leaks, we advise that you take these details with a barrel of salt and with great skepticism. The GoPro Hero 8, GoPro Hero 8 Black, and GoPro Max are expected to arrive on September 2019.
