2020 is just a few months away, the same year that gamers, fans, and tech enthusiasts predict the next generation gaming console from Sony will be released. Because of this, rumors, leaks, and speculations surrounding PlayStation 5 are rife online. Today, a new rumor claims that Sony is going to release a gaming console more powerful than PlayStation 5 in 2020.
We already heard rumors that the PlayStation 5 is going to be a powerful next-generation gaming console. But, the latest claim today is that another gaming console from Sony, more powerful than the PlayStation 5 will be released alongside the heavily rumored gaming console. According to the rumor, the more powerful console is the PlayStation 5 Pro and that the PlayStation 5 is just the standard form.
This surprising claim came from Zenji Nishikawa, a Japanese journalist who specializes in tech and also streams games on YouTube. In one of his latest playthroughs of "Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Nishikawa mentioned that he had heard something strange at the Computer Entertainment Developers Conference or CEDEC earlier this month about PlayStation 5.
Apparently, Sony has plans of launching not only one but two models of PlayStation 5 that will serve two different types of audiences. The Japanese game streamer and journalist accurately predicted that Nintendo will release the Nintendo Switch Lite in 2019. Additionally, he was also the one who outed about the PlayStation 4 Pro, long before it was even announced in 2016.
In other words, Zenji Nishikawa has a reputable track record when it comes to leaks. According to him, the base model, which is presumably the PlayStation 5, will be lighter in terms of hardware specs hence, also more affordable. The PlayStation 5 Pro model, on the other hand, will be a powerhouse to meet the most demanding needs of console gamers.
Because of this specs, the PlayStation 5 Pro will be retailed at a premium price. There are earlier claims that the PlayStation 5 is going to be expensive, so, that means the PlayStation 5 Pro is going to be a little more expensive. So far, this is the first time that the Japanese gaming console giant has been rumored to be considering a couple of next-generation gaming console variants but the idea is not really new.
We already heard that Microsoft is allegedly planning the same with its Project Scarlett. As far as the rumor mill goes, Sony is expected to launch the PlayStation 5 from PlayStation Experience 2019 up to the first half of 2020. Most likely the PlayStation 5 and the rumored PlayStation 5 Pro will be released in Fall of 2020.
