Officially, Sony has not yet launched its next-generation console, PlayStation 5. However, the upcoming gaming console has been the center of many rumors, leaks, and speculations. The latest speculation suggests that the specs of the upcoming next-generation gaming console will greatly benefit open-world games and higher levels and bigger world titles.
The launch date and the release window of PlayStation 5 are still hotly debated among fans and tech enthusiasts. But, while these details remain a mystery, we know that the upcoming gaming console from Sony will be a very powerful one. Sony's System Architect Mark Cerny shared some details about the specs of PlayStation 5. One of the interesting revelations is that the next-generation console will have a solid-state drive or SSD.
Developers of the upcoming release "Bookbound Brigade, franchises like "GTA 6," "The Elder Scrolls 6," and even "FallOut" will really benefit the most from PlayStation 5's SSD. During an interview with GamingBolt, studio members noted that next-generation titles would be able to back much higher levels and bigger worlds, perfect for open-world titles because of the solid-state drive of the PS5. The powerful specs of PlayStation 5 will allow for much faster transfer rates that will, in turn, hasten the installation time of the games.
Meanwhile, Dutch publication called LetsGoDigital shared the latest renders of the PlayStation 5. The renders are inspired from the recently reported patent filed by Sony to the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property and with the World Intellectual Property Office. The patent was filed by Sony Technical Director Yasuhiro Ootori for an unnamed electronic device.
The patent filing made rounds online and Senior Artist at Codemasters, Matthew Scott had apparently confirmed that the illustration is the same as the PlayStation 5 dev kit. He tweeted that the illustration in the patent application is the same as the dev kit they have at the office. Codemasters is a UK game publisher and Scott alter deleted his tweet in reference to the patent application.

Earlier leaks suggest that Sony might fully unveil the PlayStation 5 on a special launch event dubbed as the PlayStation Meeting 2020 in February. The leak came from 4Chan, which also said that the title "Ghosts of Tsushima" will be releasing alongside Sony's next generation console. These are leaks and like we always recommend, take these leaks with a barrel of salt and with skepticism.
