GoPro has always announced its new products every September, but the action camera maker is making changes this year. Instead of its usual favored month, the company has decided to officially announce the Hero 8 Black on Oct. 1.

GoPro's official website and all of its social media accounts now have a short clip containing clips of what appears to be the next generation of GoPro shooters. Check out the clip below:

In the video, there appears to be two different shooters, one of them we assume is the GoPro Hero 8 Black and the other, the GoPro Max, the company's new 360º camera. The latter is believed to be the successor of the GoPro Fusion.

Unfortunately, the video doesn't show any specs for both cameras, but earlier rumors suggest that the Hero 8 Black allows for 4K resolution shooting at up to 120fps and 1080p Full HD video at up to 480fps.

If this turns out to be true, the new GoPro shooter would be capable of making amazing slo-mo videos. There's another rumor, however, suggesting that the Hero 8 Black will shoot 4K at up to 60fps, although it will be capable of recording at 240fps if the resolution is dropped down to 1080p.

There were also leaked images of the purported Hero 8 Black, which showed the accessories that can be used with the new camera, including a mic, an external display, and some cool LED lights.

It seems as though the Hero 8 Black will retain the basic specs as the Hero 7 though. There's a rumored new lens, but the snapper will remain at 12 megapixels, as will the 1,220mAh battery. The dimensions will be similar to its predecessor as well.

It seems the upgrades that the Hero 8 Black will have are those found in the leaked images, which is known as of now as the "Media Module.

It's important to note that GoPro hasn't exactly mentioned a "Hero 8 Black" in the video. It could be named something else, but all that will be clarified next week. You can watch the Oct. 1 event via the GoPro YouTube channel where there will be a livestream.

There's still a lot to be learned about GoPro's next-generation cameras, and as always we will deliver the latest scoop right here. Keep watch.
