Following Manchester United's defeat to West Ham, former footballer, and now football coach Patrice Evra showed interest in helping the team. Recently, the 38 years old Frenchman was surprised to learn how low the standards at Manchester United has become after coming back to do his coaching badges, several reports claim. He also named several footballers for his first transfers should he become the team's director of football.

Patrice Evra won five Premier League titles when he was at Manchester United. In recent weeks, the French former footballer has been active and vocal in his social media accounts, sharing words of wisdom, and even offering his services to the team. However, the Daily Mail reports that Patrice Evra has been surprised by the general setup and coaching at the red Devils' training ground.

Patrice Evra left Manchester United at the start of the reign of David Moyes following eight years of success under the leadership of Alex Ferguson. The Old Trafford had four managers after Moyes. This includes Ryan Giggs and of course Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, which is Evra's former teammate and currently the team's coach.

The worry over United's coaching setup and training ground is not exclusive to Patrice Evra. His sentiments are shared by some Manchester United players who are also concerned about the lack of quality and leadership in the first-team squad. Following the team's defeat to West Ham, Patrice Evra, the former left-back player of United called on the team to give him a job.

In his social media account, Evra named Paulo Dybala as the first player he would sign should he become the director of football of Manchester United. On his Instagram account, Patrice Evra said that it is time to get his hands dirty and tagged Manchester United board asking them if they are willing to accept his help. Evra was then asked by a follower on how he will handle transfers for United.

Patrice Evra responded that Paulo Dybala will be his first transfer. Manchester United has never had a director of football, but it seems that it is now keen to fill the role and has been reportedly in contact with former players to fill the position. Several names associated with the said role include Patrice Evra, Edwin van der Sar, and Rio Ferdinand. However, Manchester United has yet to make the final decision.
